LMMS Student Council Coat Drive

The LMMS Student Council is sponsoring our annual Coat Drive. This is your opportunity to pass along coats and jackets that you no longer need while at the same time helping to make sure that no one goes without a basic necessity like a coat this winter.

The Student Council is collecting new and clean, gently used coats and jackets as part of One Warm Coat, which is a national non-profit organization that supports and encourages the donation of coats. All coats collected by LMMS will be donated to The Caring Place in Allentown. The Caring Place is a non-profit youth development center that strives to aid inner city youth become healthy, productive citizens.

The Student Council is collecting clean, gently used coats and jackets for men, women and children of all ages. Donations may be dropped off at Lower Macungie Middle School during school hours or can be sent in to school with your child. The Coat Drive begins on Monday, October 20th and continues until Friday, November 14, 2014.

LMMS Student Council All Treats, No Tricks Food Drive

The LMMS Student Council is sponsoring its annual “All Treats, No Tricks” Food Drive from Monday, October 27th until Friday, November 14, 2014 Students are being asked to donate non-perishable food items like peanut butter, pasta, tomato sauce, tuna fish, macaroni and cheese, cereal, soup, canned fruits and vegetables, juice, baby food, etc. …

All non-perishable food items will benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank of the Lehigh Valley who’s mission is to obtain food and distribute it to people in need through area non-profits, all in the hope of ending hunger. So, please help us to help others by sending your child to school with some non-perishable items. The homeroom collecting the largest number of items (250 item minimum) will win a party of their choice!
